Prayer Chain

Weekly Prayers Shared at Sunday Service

September 14, 2025

PRAISE AND THANKSGIVING

As we begin this week’s prayer chain, we praise and worship God, our father; Jesus, his son; and the Holy Spirit.  What a wonderful privilege that we have the opportunity to worship our God freely.

The September Elder of the Month is Susan Burwell.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Sunday of Special Music
Sunday, September 21, Rally Day, will be a worship service of special music.  The congregation will be led by Dorothy, our choir, Dr G. and our enthusiastic congregation. If you have a favorite hymn, let the worship committee know.  There may not be time for all requests but every effort will be made.

Fall Potluck Fellowship
Following worship on 09/21, we will have a fall potluck fellowship.  Plan to be here and bring a friend.

BLESSING BOX:

The Blessing Box is placed at the front of the church.  This Free Food Pantry is very active in our community and clearly serving many in need. Contributions may be placed in the basket in the Narthex. The pantry is moving in the direction of needing more "hands on" support to keep the pantry stocked.  You may also make donations through the Amazon Gift Registry.  You will find written instructions for using this Registry in the Narthex.

SPECIAL PRAYER CONCERNS:

We pray for an end to hate in our country especially when it leads to the death of others.  "Dear Heavenly Father, please help us to search our hearts and love one another as we love ourselves” as your son taught us.  May the loved ones and friends of Charlie Kirk find peace and love in the thoughts of your servant, Charlie.

Those who are serving as caregivers to family and friends need our prayers for strength, courage, and hope as they care and bring love for ones in need.

We remember those suffering from famine in Gaza.

The leaders of our country especially need our prayers during these turbulent times.

We ask that our awesome God guide the leaders of Ukraine and Russia hopefully will meet to bring peace to the region.

Keep those facing challenges in life in prayer to find the way to Christ and feel his love and hope.  We ask for our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ, to grant peace and comfort to those that are grieving or feeling anxious.

As our church family grows, we are grateful to see God’s church at work in so many ways.  As we continue God’s work, keep our Church in prayer to find ways to continue to share our love and caring to others.  Please remember those serving in church leadership for strength and courage as they guide our OTPC congregation into the future.
